Modelling is something which comes very naturally to Camilla. So when Aristoc launched their campaign in October 2006, Camilla became a brand name when they chose her to be the legs and face of Aristoc tights, her signature was featured on product packaging and on all promotional materials at all points of sale.
A Poster campaign was launched on London Buses in November 2006 and by Christmas the Aristoc tights carrying Camilla’s image were outselling all the other styles across the range.
Modelling has always been a big part of Camilla’s life, she joined a modelling agency at a very early age in Denmark, she modelled in many fashion shows & TV commercials whilst growing up. The pictures of the Aristoc campaign are available on the photo page.
Camilla teamed up with Ian Waite 5 years ago. They had been competitors and rivals for many years when they were both in the top 12 of the International Professional Latin American Championships. They decided to work together and created http://www.trulyfabulousevents.com
They are both known from the BBC’s hit show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ where 6 series later, Camilla has partnered the likes of David Dickenson (Bargain Hunt), athlete Roger Black and actor Ray Fearon. Camilla made it to the semi finals with celebrity chef James Martin and TV presenter Gethin Jones before teaming up with Tom Chambers and finally making it all the way to the final of series 6. Tom and Camilla proved to be a winning combination and danced their way to victory to be crowned the champions of 2008 and Camilla was able to lift the ever important trophy. Ian joined Strictly in series 2 and has enjoyed great success stories partnering Olympic Champion Denise Lewis and TV presenter Zoe Ball all the way to the Final of Strictly Come Dancing, Mica Paris, Penny Lancaster and Jody Kidd in the latest series.

Thank you for logging on to my web page I hope you will enjoy it. If you keep reading you will get a small insight into my life.
I was born in Aalborg Denmark where I lived until I was 16. I will always feel grateful for my upbringing in Denmark but I have probably always felt a need to explore the world and with my love for the English language I have known that I will be living somewhere where English is the main language. I have now been living in England for 10 years but let’s go back to the beginning…………………………
As you will discover from reading this, performing and dancing has always been a big part of my life. I started dancing when I was 2 ½ when my mum dragged me along to a dance school.
Who would have known then that it would become the first few steps of an amazing journey?
I suppose right at the beginning I was just like any other kid who wanted to be outside playing instead of going dancing, that was until the day my mum said: “Ok fine no more dancing"… I was then hooked because now it was my choice and it has been my choice ever since.
I was lucky enough to have a boy partner right from the first dance. We stayed together for 7 years and I enjoyed my first competition with him when I was 6. Need I say I was competitive already then….. I just loved competing and performing.
Throughout my years at the Lille Nicholaisen academy for performance and dance I was able to study all kinds of dance, singing, acting and performing from ballet, tap, ballroom dancing to musicals, theatre and fashion shows/modelling. We had many interesting teachers from all over the world coming to visit and sharing their knowledge with us. Lot’s of my friends from the academy have gone on to be very successful in their fields. I think getting rid of the fear, if you have any, at such an early age is so helpful later in life in whatever career choices you choose to make!
As I got older I had to make some choices and I chose competitive ballroom dancing to be my main focus. I was a junior and youth champion. Funnily enough one year the ballroom was better and next year the Latin. I loved both, but when I came to the cross roads where there was only time for one, if you wanted to be the best! I chose Latin, as I figured I loved both but I could never live without the Latin. While I was dancing in my teens and early twenties I studied as well, first at Copenhagen business school and after that law and finance to become a real-estate agent in Denmark. The business aspect has come to great use many times and especially when I turned professional in 2000 and had to run our own business affairs.
From 1996-2004 I have had the most amazing competitive years with Brendan Cole ( Winner of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1 2004). First, 4 years in amateur and then 4 very successful years as professional (See Results list below). I have been blessed with some very wonderful memories of succeeding and performing in so many interesting places all over the world, meeting many fascinating people and cultures. This has already given me some fantastic opportunities through my dancing such as joining “Starlight” in Streatham, South London, one of the most famous Ballroom and Latin Dance studios in the world. And then to take part in the first Strictly Come Dancing series on BBC1, with David Dickinson (from BBC1 Bargain Hunt) as a partner, bringing with it so many other experiences. This led to other television shows and subsequently taking part in the second, third and most recently the fourth series of Strictly with Ray Fearon.
My professional dancing partner is the fabulous Ian Waite. We have had the most exciting time since we joined up as a partnership over three years ago. We have created a fantastic dancing show together which we perform all over the country at various events and recently made the wonderful dance DVD The Magic Of Dance.
Most of all I just love performing in every kind of way and I definitely believe in following your dreams and making them come true, and where in life you have the choice, make the choice where your passion is, even though the road may be longer ..………………happiness is worth it!!!!

Whilst many people think that Strictly Come Dancing is all about the gem stones and live performances, what they don’t realise is the hard work that takes place behind the scenes.
As one of its original professionals and winner of Strictly Come dancing 2008, after having taking part in 6 series and 5 years performing and choreographing on the show Camilla decided it was time to move on and pursue her TV dreams and other new challenges. It has been a fantastic experience for Camilla to be part of such a pioneering show, having been involved in the Magic that is “Strictly Come Dancing.” Camilla has been dancing for 33 year and feels the time is right to move on and experience new challenges and fulfill new dreams.
Camilla believes that Strictly Come Dancing has been responsible for making Latin and Ballroom dancing fashionable again and has encouraged many youngsters to get involved.
